![]() In fact, the durability and blunt changes are just frustrating. ![]() I still don't really like the state of armor, and the recent changes don't really do anything to alleviate that. I pretty much have the same gripes about armor/ammo as I did the last time I made one of these threads. I didn't want to clump my opinions with objective facts in the original post so I'm posting my opinions on armor in a comment so it can be individually up/downvoted. Learn random little things to improve your play, or something.Ī big thanks to everyone for hanging out with me in my stream last night, I stream every evening around 6pm to 4am PST now! Once I get the material information I can say exactly which ammo can and cannot penetrate body parts, as well as calculate their penetration and total fragmentation chance, so that'll be neat.Ĭome check out my stream, I have no idea what I'm doing streaming and can't promise it'll be fun, but come hang out, ask me questions, watch me metastomp people and test things. Fragmentation increases the damage of the hit by 50%. With armor, the armor has to be penetrated first for a bullet to fragment. ![]() However it works a little weird, for a bullet to fragment it has to penetrate first, which means the high flesh damage/high frag chance bullets like 5.56 HP can't actually fragment at all because they can't penetrate a body part in the first place. Helmets and Fshields vary from 5-10%, but a lot of them have 0% which is probably an oversight.įragmentation chance applies to getting hit by bullets now, it previously only applied to bullets penetrating objects. This means hollow points and buckshot do a lot of damage through armor regardless of what armor people are wearing, but AP rounds do very little. How blunt damage works is it's just a multiplies the damage of the bullet by a % and then does that damage to the body part hit when armor stops the bullet. This is a nerf to armor protection, with people no longer having 100% condition armor most of the time, the chances of lower end ammo penetrating goes up in general.īlunt damage was massively increased across the board. This massively reduces the lifespan of armor, and as a result also massively reduces the consistency of penetration chances as almost nobody is going to be using 100% condition armor anymore. This means that a 60/60 Fort is no longer considered at 100% condition, but rather 60/80 or 75% condition. The durability % that is used to calculate the penetration chance is no longer (current durability/current maximum durability) and is now (current durability/ original maximum durability). This impacts more durable materials quite a bit, and all armor takes more durability damage in general. It was increased by a flat 10% across the board, except for Glass (faceshields). I do this for transparency: the more everyone knows about the inner workings of the game, the better feedback people can give on balance and mechanics.Īrmor materials' destructibility was changed, this is a multiplier to how much durability damage armor takes. I made the tables using the internal game damage and penetration calculation. How did you make these tables, or know all this? - I decompiled the game and took a look at how everything works. Updated website containing detailed information on armor mechanics: I'll have the new tables up tomorrow or Sunday. I also have to figure out a new format to show lower durabilities. Tables aren't updated yet, there were some changes to armor material destructibility, so armor now takes 10-33% more damage depending on the armor material.
